Cheap Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat

I assembled the Vermont Castings 450 grill myself (Home Depot assembly "experts" screwed up the previous assembly). But this deck box takes the cake. If you did not perfectly assemble this deck the first time--in my case, I mistakenly swapped the C and B side-panels--then you will encounter difficulties. Suncast's assembly instruction sheets did not provide clear and concise instructions--no dire warnings like: "you will loose your first born, if you get this wrong," or clear and concise diagrams and instructions on how to fix assembly problems. And if you want to disassemble the unit later on for moving/storage purposes, you are SOL. I spent a total of @2 hours over two days--trying to disassemble the darn thing...got all scratched up and physically exhausted from the ordeal--before giving up. Customer service was unable to tell me exactly where to apply pressure to dislodge the latching mechanisms at the corners of the box. They faxed me this sorry piece of instruction...in paragraph form! No pictogram/diagram/arrows... nothing that would help me. Even my husband, the engineer, couldn't get it...He excused his inability to help me by saying: "I am software, not hardware, engineer." I am giving the Suncast box 1 star, because not even my "engineer" husband was able to fix my error. The panels are now all scratched-up, warped and no longer usable. I am not sure if Suncast will send replacement panels...last I heard they wanted to charge me @$30 per panel. I need to wait till next week to talk to the internet store and see what can be done. I will also complain to them for carrying a product that for me is rather user un-friendly and unforgiving.Get more detail about Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat.

Buying Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat

I purchased this box to house my new pool maintenance equipment. It took longer to unpack it than it did to assemble. The instructions were brief but clear and I got it together in 10 minutes. We used it for 6 months now and we are quite pleased with it. It cleans easily with a rinse on the outside and a portable vacuum inside. I sit on it safely and comfortably with my 260 pound frame. I paid a lot less than the current price and am completely happy with my purchase.Get more detail about Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat.

I was searching for an outside storage box for my patio chairs. This box had the right measurements, so I ordered it. It arrived within 2 days! It was very lightweight enough for me to get it to my backyard by myself, easy to assemble and set in place. It is the exact size that I wanted and works perfectly.Get more detail about Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat.

I don't know what the problem was with the reviewer that gave this only one star. Each piece is clearly labeled as part A,B,C, etc. The instructions are clear, e.g. "Snap tabs on back of side panel C to back panel A". There are only seven pieces of plastic and nothing to screw in as each piece snaps together. Easy. Out of the box, assembled and on my deck in under 10 minutes. Lots of room for my deck cushions.Get more detail about Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat.

In short:

I really, really like how spacious this deck box is inside, but putting it together, you have to apply pressure to the panels to get them to snap together and snap they did. Two tabs snapped off after moderate pressure was applied to the panels (front panel and back panel).

I'm hoping I will never have to move this because although it takes my weight when I sit on it (150 lbs.), moving it around makes it sway back and forth like some cardboard box.

I'm admittedly too lazy to return it, but I don't think I would buy this brand again.Get more detail about Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat.

It arrived in "record" time, however, the box had been dropped and a corner of the top was chipped..The assembly was not for a "lite weight" as their idea of "gentle pressure" to snap in place required more than I could muster. So I paid a handyman to "snap it in". He seemed to have no problem. It looks very nice and has ample (lots) of room inside, but plastic/resin could be more substantial in my opinion. I guess, beware instructions that sound "too simple"..Get more detail about Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat.

This bench is wonderful. It holds everything, plus room for more. It does not leak and can be moved easily from one place to another. So happy we decided to get this bench in the end. I would recommend this to everyone.Get more detail about Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat.
